INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE YOUR PRF EZ GEL TREATMENT

2-3 WEEKS BEFORE:

  • Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event you’re attending such as a wedding or vacation. Results start to appear approximately 3-5 days after treatment with the full effects in place after 14 days.

  • If this is your very first treatment, you may also want to allow time for a touch-up if necessary.

    Bruising and swelling can wax and wane and will be most present during this time if this occurs.

    If you are anxious or worried about your procedure, feel free to talk to the healthcare practitioner who will perform your procedure. Our practitioners are highly experienced and may have suggestions that will help.

1 WEEK BEFORE:

  • Avoid supplements such as Fish Oil/Omega 3, Ginko, St. Johns Wort, and anti-inflammatories of any kind to limit bruising.

72 HOURS BEFORE:

  • Cease blood thinners - NSAIDs, Aspirin, etc. (*Unless medically necessary and/or Dr. prescribed)

  • Start oral Arnica - Arnica is an herbal homeopathic supplement that has been shown to decrease bruising and bleeding. This may increase your healing time if you are prone to these side effects.

24 HOURS BEFORE:

  • Avoid alcohol intake of any kind to limit bruising.

DAY OF:

  • Come in with a clean face

  • Make sure you eat prior to your appointment to ensure good blood sugar.

  • If you frequently exercise, complete your routine prior to your appointment.

AFTER YOUR PRF EZ GEL TREATMENT

DAY OF:

  • The 5-5-5 Rule: Massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. This is easiest done using the heel of your hands. Your provider will show you the correct method and areas to massage.

  • Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, swelling, tenderness, and/or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is usually temporary.

  • Do not apply make-up for at least 12 hours.

  • Continue Arnica to prevent bruising.

  • Monitor for signs of serious adverse reaction like vascular occlusion or infection. Signs of vascular occlusion include blanching (white color), extreme swelling, extreme pain, cool temperature to the treatment area. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary. If you believe you have any of these side effects notify your provider immediately.

24 HOURS AFTER:

  • Avoid using irritating products such as Retinols, glycolic, or other active ingredient skincare. - You are ok to wash your face that evening with gentle products.

  • Arica may be continued to speed up healing time. It is recommended to take Arnica till bruising clears.

UP TO 5 DAYS AFTER:

  • Avoid working out, or other activities that involve heavy lifting or sweating for 24 hours. These activities can increase circulation which can then increase any bruising or swelling.

  • A few days after treatment, you will look as you did before treatment as all the product will have been absorbed by your tissues. This is normal and expected. Over time, Sculptra will replace lost collagen.

UP TO 2 WEEKS AFTER:

  • Bruising may appear in the injected areas. This is normal and will subside within a few days to a week.

  • Avoid Microdermabrasion, facials, face-down massages, and dental treatments.

REMINDERS:

  • Sculptra typically requires multiple treatments. To achieve optimal results adhere to the recommendations made by your provider.
